A few hours spent in Honfleur are enough to take a break from the city life. Two hours from Paris,this welcoming Norman city is a perfect getaway for travelers. Old stones houses and local specialties await !
What to do in Honfleur ?
I would suggest wander in the little paved streets and stop to admire the beautiful architecture of the half-timbered houses. Another great place to walk by is the “Grand Bassin”, the old port and its gorgeous houses reminding us of Copenhagen. It’s also one of the most photogenic places in town.
If you’re in town for more than just a day, I would suggest visiting the Boudin Museum. It hosts a collection of works by painters such as Boudin, Courbet, Monet, Dubourg or Dufy. Check the city’s website to discover even more museums to visit.
It’s also possible to walk a little out of the town and spend some time on its beach, or even enjoy a boat ride.
Honfleur is a great place to taste seafood or sweets such as caramel d’Isigny. Try one of the local restaurants and ask for the specialties.
